Social media agency charged with driving buzz online
26th May 2010, LONDON:
Centaur, the specialist business information publishing company, has appointed immediate future to run the online PR and social media campaign promoting Marketing Week Live 2010. The flagship event is run by the teams behind www.marketingweek.co.uk andwww.newmediaage.co.uk and takes place from 29th to 30th June at London’s Earls Court.
The social media agency is tasked with using channels such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to build excitement around the show. Campaign tactics will include blogger relations, Tweet-ups, social media consultancy and driving conversations with online influencers. This will ensure a constant presence in the social media sphere that will ensure the show is front of mind for marketers on the run up to the show.
“We know the people looking to come to Marketing Week Live will be online looking for insight, news and information,” said Andy Oakes, publisher of New Media Age. “It is important that we focus on communicating with these people through the channels they use. Social media offers a simple and quick way for us to start and join key conversations and to maximise the interaction we have with our audience. immediate future understands this audience and how it communicates. Part of the campaign will see the team speaking directly to marketers building their understanding of the show and empowering them to be advocates for the event.”
“Marketers are active users of social media channels for work as well as pleasure,” said James Mossman, account director at immediate future. “By starting a large number of small conversations through an integrated mix of social media channels, we have an opportunity to steadily build buzz around the show, peaking the week of the show. The campaign will pull together all the elements that make Marketing Week Live successful: the exhibitors, spokespeople and conference sessions as well as those planning to come.”
The event brings together four dedicated exhibitions and conferences covering online marketing, data marketing, in store marketing and market research. At the heart of the show will be Centre Stage, where some of the biggest names and from companies including Coca Cola, Unilever, O2 and Domino’s Pizza will be presenting.
