Timing is everything…

When you have your pictures, links and posts ready, there is one thing that you need to ask yourself. When would be the best time to post? Brands are investing more time and resources into social media, but the timing of your posts are important, making sure that your content is actually visible to your audience!

Here is a great infographic from www.fannit.com, which looks into some of the best and worst times to post on various social media channels:

However, although there is a range of research available online around timings, don’t forget that all businesses are different. What might work for one company might not work for another. Make sure you test timings out for your company, reviewing and tweaking them to suit your specific audience, so your channels work the best they can for you.

Here are a few of questions to ask yourself:

  • What is your target audience?
  • Is your business/content: B2C or B2B?
  • What time-zone(s) are your customers on?
  • When is your target audience likely to be asleep/at work?

Once you have thought about these questions, you are more likely to have a better idea of the key times that your audience could be on social media.

Don’t forget that you can also go to Facebook Insights and see the times when your followers are online! Use this to see when could be the best time(s) to post. For Twitter, take a look at Tweriod for a quick insight into what times work best for you.
