How to deal with a mental block while creating content

Are you mentally struggling in your workplace right now? Have you lost confidence, or is your self-esteem lower than normal?

You are not alone. Many of us face mental blocks that hinder our productivity and creativity. We cannot give 100% every day, and if you try to, you will end up burned out by the end of the week. This can cause a block on your creativity when it comes to creating content for your brand or clients.

A mental block causes a feeling of being stuck or unable to think clearly. Common signs include difficulty making decisions, a lack of creativity, repeated small errors, and many others. It can also be caused by various factors such as workload, collaboration overload, self-doubt, perfectionism, vague goals, age, and exhaustion.

If this sounds like you, let’s overcome these issues together with a few tips that may help with your creativity when creating content:

Writer’s block is a common problem when we spend days and hours writing content, and sometimes it all looks the same! Start by creating a structure. This can help organise your thoughts and provide a clear direction for your content. Try freewriting; writing without worrying about perfection allows your thoughts to flow freely, often breaking through mental barriers.

If you’re struggling with a lack of ideas, brainstorming with your team can be helpful. Spend time generating a list of potential topics, keywords, or angles. Research is also vital. Look into online forums, social media, news articles, and competitor content for inspiration (but don’t copy what your competitors do!).

Managing your time efficiently is crucial. If you are like me and want every task to be done the same day, try breaking down the content creation process into smaller, manageable tasks with specific due dates to help keep you on track. Focus on the most important tasks first or those little annoying tasks that we always leave until the end.

Balancing quality and quantity in your content is essential. Aim for quality while also considering the quantity of content you need to produce. Finding a balance that works for you is key.

Don’t let mental blocks get in the way of your great ideas!

Be confident in your work, your skills, and your creativity. Take care of your health and remember, you are not alone.
