Join the ‘Social Media Day’ Revolution

It’s no secret that social media connects millions of people worldwide and has irreversibly changed the way we interact. The abundance of social media platforms has necessitated a change in the way brands engage with customers, how we consume news, our communications with friends and its even influencing wider political and global events. In Q1 this year as many as 70% of internet users were active on social media and this percentage is on the incline (GlobalWebIndex).

The impact of social media has been so vast that Canadian Technology giant, Mashable, are campaigning for June 30th to be declared a national holiday in celebration of the contribution which social media has made to our lives. With several states already signed up, thousands of US citizens are looking forward to spending ‘Social Media Day’ celebrating all things social, in a variety of fun and informative ways.

Since the launch in 2010, the event has grown increasingly popular and is now globally celebrated by thousands of people around the world. The growth has been so rapid, you might even call it a ‘Social Media Day Revolution’ (Mashable). But as with any revolution, it’s important to lay strong foundations. So, with all this happening in just under 6 weeks, now is the time to start planning how you/your company can join the worldwide celebration.

Ofcom shows AI summaries are now common in search results, and YouTube remains the UK’s biggest social utility by reach and time spent. If your story is inconsistent, your evidence is scattered, or your customer proof is buried, lurkers can’t do the job of trusting you for you.
