TikTok Adds YouTube Music Integration – Discover, Tap, and Save.

TikTok has just made it even easier to enjoy the music you discover on the app by adding YouTube Music as a new music-saving option. Now, if you come across a song you like while scrolling, you can quickly save it straight to your YouTube Music playlist with just a tap.

When you’re watching a TikTok video and a song grabs your attention, tap the “Add Song” button that appears at the bottom of the video. Then choose “Add to Music App” and select YouTube Music (as long as you have a subscription). The song will be automatically added to your “TikTok Songs” playlist on YouTube Music.

Once you’ve used the feature with YouTube Music once, it becomes your default music app for saving songs in the future. You can also save songs directly from an artist’s sound page, making it even easier to find and follow new music.

YouTube says this new feature helps people save the songs they discover on TikTok and keep enjoying them through their own playlists. It also helps artists build a deeper connection with listeners, turning casual fans into long-term followers.

TikTok has become one of the most important platforms for discovering music. According to TikTok’s 2024 Music Impact Report, 84% of songs that reached the Billboard Global 200 chart last year became popular on TikTok first. Even more impressive, for 96% of the artists studied, the number of TikTok views directly matched how often their songs were streamed.

TikTok’s existing music-saving feature has already been used to save over a billion tracks, showing just how powerful the app is when it comes to shaping what people listen to. Adding YouTube Music to the mix is a smart move, giving users even more ways to save and enjoy the songs they find.

For YouTube, this is also a clever decision. It puts YouTube Music alongside other big services like Spotify and Apple Music, giving users more choice and helping YouTube reach younger music fans who use TikTok regularly. It also helps artists get more plays and reach wider audiences.

This new feature makes it easier than ever to move from discovering a song on TikTok to listening to it on your favourite music app. It’s a simple tool, but one that will be appreciated by anyone who’s ever heard a catchy track on TikTok and wanted to hear it again.

Of course, some people are wondering what might happen if TikTok were banned in certain countries, like the United States. TikTok plays such a big role in the music world now that it would be hard to replace. But for the time being, the app is going strong, and this update only makes it better.

YouTube Music is now available as an “Add to Music” option in the latest version of the TikTok app. So next time a tune catches your ear, just tap, save, and enjoy it again whenever you like.
