WhatsApp, Keeping us Connected

In a recent post, WhatsApp stated they are now launching proxy support to users all over the world.

What does proxy support mean, I hear you ask?

What this means is we’re putting the power into people’s hands to maintain access to WhatsApp if their connection is blocked or disrupted.

This means people can volunteer to set up a proxy server to help others communicate more freely. Doing so still gives you WhatsApps high privacy and security, whilst still allowing users to stay connected during internet black outs.

“Our wish for 2023 is that these internet shutdowns never occur. Disruptions like we’ve seen in Iran for months on end deny people’s human rights and cut people off from receiving urgent help. Though in case these shutdowns continue, we hope this solution helps people wherever there is a need for secure and reliable communication.”

If you’re interested to learn how to set up a proxy, you can check it out here, and if you’d like to learn how to use this feature, then you can head on over here.
