Meta introduces its Llama AI models

Meta is taking the lead in the broader AI field by open-sourcing its latest Llama AI models to promote further development and collaboration.

Meta will release its Llama 3.1 40B and Llama 3.1 70B models, allowing developers to create their own AI systems using Meta’s advancements. This means developers can use Meta’s pre-trained models, which are trained on billions of parameters for translating text queries, without building their own front-end systems from scratch.

YouTube enables saving music from shorts

A few updates from YouTube are on the way – the video network will enable creators to save music from the Shorts feed. There will also be a new Chrome extension for Affiliate creators, as well as new creator resources in the Help Center.

Google cancels plan to eliminate tracking cookies

As per Google:

“We are proposing an updated approach that elevates user choice. Instead of deprecating third-party cookies, we would introduce a new experience in Chrome that lets people make an informed choice that applies across their web browsing, and they’d be able to adjust that choice at any time. We’re discussing this new path with regulators, and will engage with the industry as we roll this out.”

X is looking at options to block links in post replies

X is experimenting with a new option that would enable users to stop people from adding links to post replies in the app.

Meta AI Is now multilingual

Meta is going forward with the next stage of its AI development plan, announcing an expansion of its Meta AI chatbot to seven more languages. The company are also introducing new creative functions in-stream, and the capacity to choose which Meta AI model you use for different functions.
