Instagram’s Edits App Gets a Teleprompter. Plus, New Creator Milestones to Keep You Motivated

Alright, content creators, gather ‘round – Instagram’s dropping two big updates this week, and one of them might just save you from those “Wait, what was my next line?” moments.

Let’s be real: reading a script off-camera without looking like a robot is hard. But Instagram’s Edits app is coming to the rescue with a new in-app teleprompter, spotted by the ever-reliable Alessandro Paluzzi.

Here’s how it works:

  • Scrollable script right below your camera
  • Adjustable speed and text size
  • No more awkward side-eye glances at cue cards

This is a game-changer for making your videos feel more natural, and since videos with real people perform better, (check out our latest LinkedIn newsletter for more info), this could seriously up your engagement.

Oh, and this is just the start. Instagram’s testing all the flashy new features (AI backgrounds, video transitions, etc.) in Edits first, making it a legit CapCut competitor.

Now, onto the other big news: Instagram’s rolling out Recaps and Celebrations to keep creators motivated… Sometimes the algorithm feels like a black hole sucking your soul, and we could all use a little hype.

Instagram will now send you performance snapshots showing:

  • Post views
  • Reach from non-followers
  • Follower growth

The goal? Help you see what’s working (and, uh, what’s not) so you can tweak your strategy. (Though, fair warning: If your stats dip, this might sting a little.)

Hit a new follower count? Go viral with a Reel? Instagram will now hit you with full-screen confetti-worthy celebrations, complete with shareable Story cards.

“Being a creator can be tough,” says Instagram. “We want you to feel in control of your growth and… stay motivated.”

Translation: They’re gamifying growth to keep you posting. Smart move, IG.

Oh, and in case the teleprompter wasn’t enough, Edits also dropped three new features this week:

  1. 35+ transitions (Zoom Ripple, Vertical Stretch, etc.)
  2. Precision clip trimming for flawless edits
  3. Bulk volume control, no more accidental ear-blasts

Between the teleprompter, AI tools, and these new motivational boosts, Instagram’s clearly doubling down on creators. Will it work? Only time will tell—but for now, it’s a solid step toward making the app feel less like a grind and more like, well, fun.

Your move, TikTok. 🚀
